[Class 110 (iii).] In a steamdriven locomotive, a boiler A supplies steam through a superheater B to a high pressure engine C, which may be a turbine exhausting into a lowpressure unit D. Excess steam generated in the boiler is stored in an accumulator E, and is used in the lowpressure unit when required, particularly for starting. Its use is controlled bv a valve G which is normally closed.
