Abstract
427,859. Indirectly heated steam boilers. WIENER LOCOMOTIV-FABRIKSAKT.-GES., 57, Br³nnerstrasse, Vienna. Aug. 20, 1934, No. 24007. Convention date, Aug. 19, 1933. [Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii)] The accumulator of an unfired locomotive is charged with high pressure steam generated in reservoirs 3, 4 by low-pressure steam passing from a boiler 1 through a superheater 2 and heat exchangers 5, 6 in the reservoirs on its way to a consuming point. Pumps 14 force water from the boiler into the high pressure reservoirs. The high pressure steam passes through a throttle valve 16 and a superheater 17 in the reservoir 3 on its passage to the charging line 11. The reservoirs may be separately connected to a valve allowing the reservoirs to be discharged in turn. The throttle valve 16 may be automatically controlled in accordance with the pressure in the charging line.
