Abstract
339,698. Coupade, C. de. Dec. 27, 1928, [Convention date]. Fluid-actuated fuel valves for water heaters.- In a combined gas and water valve for geysers, the valve casing 1 is provided with two chambers 2, 3 permanently separated by a wall 16, and the water inlet 4 carries a perforated bell 6 constituting the inlet water valve. A weight 12 bears on the bell 6 and is carried by a lever 11 pivoted on a spindle 9 which passes through the wall of the water chamber 2 without packing. The outer end of the spindle 9 is attached to a lever 13, on which rests the spindle 22 of the gas valve 18 which is weighted at 21 and seats at 17 in a chamber 14 formed by a cap 20 which screws on to the extension 16 of the valve casing. The gas inlet 15 is formed in the cap 20 and communicates with the chamber 14, and the outlet 19 communicates with the chamber 3. When the chamber 2 is opened to atmosphere by opening the water tap. the bell 6 is raised by fluid pressure under it and opens the water valve and at the same time the lever 13 raises the spindle 22 and the gas valve 18.
