Abstract

337,885. Boysen, F. A. Sept. 6, 1929. Spray carburettors.-The air supply to a carburettor is silenced, and dust is separated therefrom, by a device comprising a spherical casing 5 Laving air inlets at opposite sides fitted with fixed guide blades 16, which give the air a whirling motion, so that dust is separated by centrifugal action and escapes through slots 9 in the casing, the air then passing through openings 10, 11 in partitions 7, 8 into a cylindrical casing 12 formed with opposite-handed slots 13, leading to a spiral baffle 14 opening into the inlet 15 of the carburettor.
