Abstract
337,794. Vivian, G. S., and Valentine & Sons, Ltd. May 8, 1929. Ink-supply and self-filling arrangements for reservoir pens; leakage, preventing; stylographs.-The ink in a fountain or stylograph pen is contained in a receptacle readily detachable from the pen barrel and provided with an ink outlet inside the barrel communicating freely with the ink-duct. The barrel 4 carrying the nib 1 or style is adapted to receive a receptacle 8 preferably formed on glass, celluloid, or other transparent material. The conical lower end of the receptacle is provided with an aperture 19 adapted to be closed by a ball valve 18 and is arranged to be pressed, by a cap 6 screwing on the rear end of the barrel, into engagement with a rubber seating 10 in the barrel. The valve is normally held open by the style or a projection 20 on the feed-bar extending into the aperture 19. The receptacle is provided with filling-mechanism similar to that described in Specification 337,835 with reference to ordinary reservoir pens.
