Abstract

336,678. Soc. Anon. Solex. May 25, 1929, [Convention date]. Dashpots.-A device for controlling automatically the supply of extra air to the carburettor e, f of an internalcombustion engine in accordance with temperature c o m - prises a valve h in the air conduit g with spindle i connecting the valve to a piston j located in a dashpot k containing a substance b which is solid, when cold, and immobilizes the valve in the closed position. When the engine temperature increases, following the starting-up, the contents of the dashpot liquefy and release the valve, which opens more or less according to the viscosity of the fluid and the engine suction. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), the dashpot may be charged with fat or oil, and the degree of liquefaction may be made dependent on temperatures in relation to the exhaust gases, or of the water circulation, or of the circulating lubricating oil. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
