Abstract

335,840. Dornier Metallbauten Ges. March 4, 1929, [Convention date]. Planes and wings, arrangement and construction of; propelling.-The engines 4 of an aeroplane, particularly a seaplane, are carried by a superstructural plane 2 mounted on the main lifting member in the case of a monoplane or the upper plane in that of a biplane, and at some distance above it, by means of carrying struts 3 enclosed in fairings. Access to the engines is obtained by means of tunnels formed in the supports 3 and crawling ways in the plane 2. The latter may also provide spaces for fuel, freight, or cabins. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) a track or runway for a waggon carrying tools and engine spare parts may be arranged within the wing 2. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
