Abstract

335,318. Brown, C. July 27, 1929. Folding vehicles; vehicles convertible into caravans.-A vehicle comprises a floor, a body mounted above the floor, the body being split in two sections and means for moving the sections to and from one another, the split body being complete in itself and mounted on the floor as a separately formed assembly. As shown the body is split into two portions which, in travelling position, are connected together by means of bolted flanges at the roof and ends. The split body is mounted on a chassis provided with a floor 14 and the body parts are supported and guided in their extended positions by rods 28 sliding in guides 27 arranged as transverse members of the chassis. A temporary roof of fabric &c. may be provided connecting the body parts when extended. The body may be split transversely if desired.
