Abstract

333,442. Bõrtges, G. Oct. 2, 1929. Alloys.-A bronze alloy consists of 7-13 per cent of aluminium, 2-6 per cent of iron, and the remainder copper. In making the alloy, the metals are melted with slag-forming materials such as alkalies or borax, and deoxidizing agents such as sodium, potassium, or magnesium, whereupon the melt is poured and, after solidification, is remelted under a covering of the slag produced by the first melt, further deoxidizing agents such as magnesium being added.
