Dry processes of refining copper; alloys.-Molten copper or copper alloy is purified by the addition of a deoxidizing alloy of 90 parts of an allialine earth metal such as magnesium, with 15-10 parts of a metal, such as aluminium, adapted to modify the action of the magnesium. One part of the alloy may be added to about 320 parts of the copper or copper alloy at about 1200‹ C.
