Abstract

Fe alloy for refining molten steel contains (by wt.) 5-40% Si, 40-80% Mn, 1-10% Al, and bal. Fe and unavoidable impurities. Extent of Al addn., i.e. ratio Al in prod.: Al added to melt, is improved by using the alloys rather than non-alloyed Al. Number of steps for adjusting steel compsn. can be reduced.
