Continuously - loaded cables.-A telephone or telegraph cable comprises a conductor covered with magnetic bands having a pitch of about fifteen or more times the core diameter. The bands may be in layers with any direction of rotation of the pitch. A binding band or wire of insulating, conducting or magnetic material may be arranged over the magnetic bands. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, a copper conductor 1 is surrounded by magnetic bands 2 which are spun in opposite directions with great pitch round the conductor 1, a binding member 4 holding the bands 2, 3 in position, In a modified construction shown in Fig. 2, a copper conductor 5 is surrounded by magnetic bands 6, 7, held in position by a round cord binding member 8 fitted under the standard paper covering 9.
