Abstract
331,280. Markovitch, H. Feb. 3, 1930. Ventilating. - An intermediate sole 3 is cut away or recessed centrally to form a chamber 4, between the inner and outer soles above the boot heel, in communication with the boot interior through recessed channels 13 on the underside of the insole 2 and perforations 8, 9, 10, reinforced by eyelets 11, in the insole. The chamber 4 is compressible in walking and is open to the atmosphere through passages 5 extending to the outer edge of the boot &c. and closed by non. return valves 6. The insole 2 may be covened on top or bottom with waterproof material 7 and the holes 8, 9. 10 may be covered with silk gauze or like material.
