Abstract
528,211. Ventilating boots &c. ANDERSON, M. C. May 1, 1939, No. 12932. [Class 17 (ii)] To ventilate a shoe, the toe cap is formed of three thicknesses of material, Figs. 1-5, the inner thickness 2 being provided with an H-shaped channel 5, the inner thickness with holes 4 registering with the ends of the forward limb of the channel and communicating with the interior of the shoe, while the outer thickness 3 is formed with holes 6 registering with the ends of the outer limbs of the channel, and at a lower level than the holes 4. In a modified construction, Fig. 6, the channel is formed in a strap 8 secured to the vamp, the ends of the forward limb of the channel registering with holes 7 in the vamp leading to the interior of the shoe, while the ends 13 of the other limb of the channel are open to the atmosphere. In another modification, the ventilating device is located at the instep of the shoe, the channel being of inverted V-shape.
