Ventilating.-Two sets of holes are provided in the upper, one set 11 in a row or rows extending across the toe cap near that edge which is attached to the vamp, and the other set 12 positioned at the waist. During walking, the air circulates backwards and forwards from one set of holes to the other. The holes 12 are reinforced by eyelets. Both sets of holes are covered on the inside by strips of silk gauze or like material.
