Abstract
468,949. Athletic footwear. LEVY, C. Nov. 11, 1935, No. 31170. Convention date, Nov. 9, 1934. [Class 17 (ii)] An athletic boot, particularly for ski running, has a lacing opening d<1>, d<11> which is cut out in oval formation and extends far forward to the region of the toes, and a tongue a of the shape shown in Fig. 1. The tongue has a forward portion a<1> which is secured flatly to the upper above the toes, and wings b which are secured at the lacing margins to give a bellows-tongue formation above the instep. In a modification, the forward portion a<1> is extended to be coextensive with the vamp. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 described also an arrangement in which the wings of the tongue were folded in for the whole length of the lacing opening inwardly of the lace holes, the upper portion of the tongue included a gusset, and the tongue and the upper part of the boot between the upper and lining were padded. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
