528,487. Insoles for boots and shoes. MARGOLIN, M. May 8, 1939, No. 13755. Convention date, June 11, 1938. [Class 17 (ii)] A resilient insert 5, e.g. of sponge or cellular rubber, is inserted in an aperture in the forepart of a leather insole 4 and is lapped at 11 to extend over the insole to a feathered edge 12, the insole being further provided with perforations 7, preferably reinforced by projecting bosses 8. The insert may have any desired contour to give any desired shape to the shoe. A sock, which may be of felt and which may have perforations matching those in the insert, is placed in the shoe over the insole. The insert may be lapped to engage over the insole on both its upper and lower surfaces.
