Abstract

501,501. Boots and shoes. BASTIEN, M. E. July 26, 1938, No. 22160. [Class 17 (ii)] A shoe insole, upper, rand and welt are secured together by stitching, a cushion bottom filler sole is applied and an intermediate sole placed in position with the projecting margin of the rand drawn over the side edges of the welt and intermediate sole and turned inwards. An outer sole may be secured by the stitches which unite the rand, welt and intermediate sole or by cement. The upper 1, welt 3 and outsole S are preferably of leather, and the intermediate sole 4 of cork.
