[Class 81 (ii)] [See also Group VII] The insole of an orthopaedic shoe is formed with cavities d, e arranged at different elevations to seat the balls of the toes, and a heel bed a having raised portions at the back and sides which fit the heel and extend beyond the heel of the shoe to guide the foot. The raised portion extends further forward on the inner side of the shoe. The cavities are maintained by cementing leather or like material beneath the insole. Rubber soles may be moulded with the shoe. A last for making the shoe is formed with prominences h, i, Fig. 6, corresponding to the balls of the toes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 369,265.
