The upper 13 and welt 15 are then stitched to the insole and the welt turned down so that its lower surface lies below the plane of the insole.. The margin 10 of the insole, the edge of the upper and lip 6 are then trimmed flush with the lower surface of the welt, a waterproof filling 20 is inserted and the outsole secured as usual. The construction provides an insole which will not curl or wrinkle at its edge.
