Abstract
331,071. Roper, T. C. Jnne 6, 1929. Draught excluders.-A draught excluder for the bottoms of doors, of the kind comprising a spring- actuated hinged lath, is provided with a strikerplate, flush with the inner surface of the lath and extending longitudinally therefrom, which engages with a resilient member fixed to the door jamb. A lath 1, Fig. 1, is attached to a door 2 by hinges 3 one or more of which is spring- controned. The striker-plate 4 is flush with the inner surface of the lath and extends horizontally therefrom. An incurved lower edge 5 of the striker-plate engages with a resilient blade 8, Fig. 2, secured to the door jamb 7 remote from the binges. On closing the door, the incurved edge 5 of the striker-plate engages with the blade 8 and depresses the lath 1 whereby the rubber strip 6 is pressed into firm contact with the floor 9.
