Abstract

264,662. Penson, F. A. Oct. 19, 1926. Draught-excluders. -A hinged draughtexcluder for the bottom of a door &c., comprises two strips A resiliently spaced apart by cable casing B or springs and covered with flexible material. The excluder pivots on staples I passing through holes in the top strip A and through eyelets in the covering, and has a guard in the form of a split tube K on its lower edge. The excluder is connected, as by a cable, to an actuating lever C and is depressed on closing the door by the engagement between the lever and a plate H on the jamb. The lever C is pivoted on a bifurcated rivet F in a bracket E and a helical spring on the rivet tends to raise the excluder through a lever D pivoted at its end to the actuating lever.
