Magnetic instruments.- A magnet system for an electromagnetic loud-speaker comprises a U-shaped permanent magnet 7, Fig. 1, a base 6, Fig. 2, and pole shoes 1 for securing the magnet by pressure against the base so that working or machining of the magnet is avoided. The pole shoe, Fig. 7, has a hole 5 in which a clamping screw passes, and has a surface in contact with the foot of the magnet which serves exclusively for magnetic contact. Extensions 2, 3 may be provided for a balanced armature system.
