Abstract
326,168. Lyon, G., Fairey, C. R., and Barlow, T. M. Nov. 29, 1928. Cylinders, cooling.-In a steam generating and condensing cooling system, wherein boiling of the cooling liquid within the cylinder jacket is prevented by restricting the outlets d from the jacket a pipe f, for the return of separated liquid to a pump q, is tapered at o at the junction with a pipe n returning the condensate. Boiling takes place in pipes c and the vapours and liquid are separated in a centrifugal separator e, e.g. as described in Specification 315,007, [Class 23, Centrifugal machines &c.], the vapour passing up a pipe g to a domed chamber h where any liquid carried by the vapour settles and returns by a pipe m; the vapour' passes by a pipe j to a condenser k and the condensate passes down a pipe n and joins the liquid flowing down the pipe m. A safety valve s, a pressure gauge t, and a double relief valve r are provided.
