Abstract

322,101. Cockburns, Ltd., and MacNicoll, D. Dec. 1, 1928. Fluid-actuated valves.-A self-closing boiler isolating or stop valve is loaded by a spring 2 acting on a hand lever 3 mounted externally at the end of a shaft 5, to which is fixed an internal lever 6, this bearing on the valve member 1. The valve position is indicated by an index finger 10 carried on the lever 3 and registering with a quadrant on the valve casing. A pin 7 is provided to limit the valve lift, the pin being removable to allow the lever to be lifted further for test purposes. The socket for the pin 7 is so placed that it is masked by the lever when fully raised, thus preventing replacement of the pin. The valve may be positively closed by means of a hand wheel and threaded spindle 9, the position of the spindle being indicated by a disc 14 which registers with marks 15 and 16.
