[Class 7 (vi)] [Also in Group XXVI] In valve gear having a rocker or lever arranged between the cam and the end of the valve stem, the rocker is mounted on its spindle so that it can be displaced laterally for obtaining access to the adjustable shims on the valve stem, the rocker being held in position by a removable clip. Fig. 3 shows the rockers 5 of a pair of valves mounted on a spindle 6 with the clip 10 between the hubs 9 of the two rockers, so that when the clip is removed, either rocker may be moved laterally out of the way of its valve. The clip may consist of two halves 10 connected to a spring 11.
