299,565. Triumph Cycle Co., Ltd., and Sykes, A. A. Sept. 5, 1927. Actuating - mechanism.-The adjustable contact piece 6, carried by a rocker 2 for operating the valves of fluid-pressure engines, is arranged only to slide in the rocker, being prevented from rotating by the engagement of a flat 8 or other surface with a corresponding surface on the rocker, adjustment being obtained by means of a screwed sleeve 4 surrounding the shank 5, and bearing against the head 6, of the contact piece. The head 6 is shaped to have line contact with the valve stem. The end of the rocker and the sleeve 4 are preferably split and clamped by a screw 14.
