Abstract
322,097. Lister & Co., Ltd., R. A., and Sanders, A. F. Nov. 29, 1928. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-To start by compression ignition an engine which normally ignites its charges in that way, the compression ratio is increased by closing a narrow passage 9 connecting the chambers 7, 10, which together form the normal clearance space. The chambers 7, 10 are spherical, and the passage 9 is radial or tangential to the chamber 7, which is connected by a tangential passage 6 to the cylinder. The fuel valve is located at 8 and a valve 12, for closing the passage 9, is screwed against a seating 14 during normal running.
