Cylinders, combustion chambers of, and arrangement of igniters in; four-strokecycle engines. - An anti-detonating device comprises an expansion chamber 3 which is connected on to the m a i n combustion chamber 1 by an orifice 4 and a small passage 2 in which the sparking plug 5 is located. A valve 6, opened by engine suction, is provided for the admission of an anti-detonating fluid during the suction stroke.
