Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. - In an engine in which a pre-combustion chamber f is connected to the main combustion chamber d by a funnel-shaped port e, the chamber f and the port e are formed by elements h, k of resistant material, which are united to the light metal of the piston or cylinder head during the casting process. The elements h, k, which may be formed of cast-iron, steel or bronze, are first screwed together at m; a partition n forms a heat-insulating chamber round the element f.
