Abstract

321,364. Prest, C. O. Jan. 25, 1929. Planes connecting to machine; fuselages. - The fuselage of an aeroplane is made of square section bevelled at the nose to form an apex at the axial centre of the fuselage and is positioned with its corners at the top, bottom and sides as shown. The planes and undercarriage are connected to opposite sides of the corners of the fuselage by struts 22, 24, 26 and saddle pieces, the upper corner saddle piece being directly connected to the plane at 19. A biplane structure also is described in which the lower plane is connected directly to the lower corner and braced by struts to the two lateral corners of the fuselage. A modified monoplane has the plane braced by pairs of struts to the top and lateral corners of the fuselage.
