Abstract

167,602. Eggleston, T. L. May 17, 1920. Planes, arrangement and construction of; framework.-An aeroplane wing structure comprises inclined sheets 10 with interlocking bevelled tenons 11 locked together by bars 13, 14 of wood or metal and bolts 15. Additional sheets 20 with bevelled tenons may be secured by locking-bars 22, 23 between the junctions of the inclined sheets to form upper and lower planes. The sheets may be of fibre board with reinforcing metal strips 19, or may be fabric-covered frames. The structure may be reinforced by wire trusses 25 and stays 26.
