Abstract

Cars.-The body or fuselage of an aeroplane is made of longitudinal members a having recesses on their outer sides, in which are inserted cover strips b to which are secured the vertical and diagonal members c, d of the framework. The parts are glued and then screwed together. The body may be triangular or rectangular in cross-section, and is covered with canvas or metal sheathing. The cover-pieces b are made of three-ply wood.
