This invention relates to air craft in which a number of planes are secured together to operate conjointly as a single carrier, the primary object of such construction being to provide an air liner of large capacity, either for freight or passengers, which will maintain a comparatively steady course, even under adverse conditions.
The objects and advantages of the invention will be more particularly explained in connection with the accompanying drawings, which illustrate one embodiment thereof, and in which Figure '1 is a plan view of a device I embodying the invention.
Fig. 2 is a section taken on the line 22 of Fig. 1.
As illustrated in the drawings, the invention comprises a large upper frame structure 5, approximately triangular in shape and having suitable struts and braces 6 to form a rigid construction. There is also a lower frame 7, similar in construction to the upper frame '5 and arranged parallel thereto. Between each corner of the upper frame and the corresponding corner of the lower frame, there is secured an aeroplane 8 of comparatively large size. Also,
between the sides ofthe upper and lower frames there are secured a plurality of aeroplanes 9, which are preferably smaller than the aeroplanes 8, and are arranged symmetrically with respect to the, longitudinal axes of the frames 5 and 7.
The upper and lower frames 5 and 7 are secured rigidly in superposed relation, .and the aeroplanes 8 and 9 are rigidly secured between them by suitable trusswork or braces 10.
Each of the aeroplanes 8 and 9 constitutes in itself a complete flying unit, with wings, propellor, motor, and steering gear.

be used as a hold for carrying freight or passengers. By combining a considerable number of planes in one gigantic craft, a larger combined tonnage can be carried and the progress through the air will be steadier than is the case with smaller craft.
It Will be understood that the invention is not limited to any particular type of aeroplane, and that the structure of the connecting frames and trusswork may be 55 modified to a considerable degree without any material departure from [the scope of the invention as claimed.
What I claim is:
1. An air craft comprisin framework, andaeroplanes iaving bodies secured to the respective corner portions of said framework, each of said aeroplanes having a single landing wheel therebeneath and each having its own motor, propeller, o5 wings and guiding means.
2. An air craft comprising a substantially triangular framework, comparatively large aeroplanes secured to the respective corner portions of said framework, and smaller aeroplanes secured to the sides of said framework, each of said aeroplanes having its own motor, propeller, wings and guiding means, and each of said larger aeroplanes havin a single landing wheel therebeneat 3.
