Abstract

319,067. Solver, E. June 7, 1928. Connecting-rods.- In an internal-combustion or other engine the connecting rod is mounted on an integral or segmental sleeve 5 on the gudgeon-pin. Rotation is prevented by flats 7, 71 on the sleeve engaging corresponding surfaces on the gudgeon-pin bosses. The sleeve may be provided with internal grooves 11, which may serve for heat insulation, or may be supplied with lubricant or other cooling fluid. As shown, lubricant supplied through the connecting-rod passes by passages 16 to the upper bearing brass.
