Crank - shafts. - The crank-shaft of an internal - combustion engine having cranks arranged as shown in Fig. 2, has its inside webs 11, 12 cut away at 13 to increase the bearing surface of the crank-pin 1. Similar portions are cut away at the opposite ends of the webs to preserve the balance of the moving parts.
