Two-stroke-cycle engines.-Eight radial cylinders are arranged in groups of four in two parallel planes, the pistons being connected to a pair of crank-pins 180 degrees apart. Balance weights may be provided on the cranks. The portions of the engine above and below an horizontal plane y-y may be cast separately.
