Abstract

317,389. Bohn Aluminum & Brass Corporation, (Assignees of Nelson, A. L.). Aug. 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Pistons.-In an aluminium alloy or like piston in which the gudgeon-pin bosses 12 are carried by piers 11 depending from the head 10, and bearing slippers 14, extending upwards from a circular part 13 of the skirt, are spaced by means of steel or other relatively inexpansible struts 15, each strut has an aperture 16 forming upper and lower branches of the strut, each of which is completely embedded in the pin 11. The upper edge of the strut has a projection 19 and the lower edge a recess 20, and the aperture 16 has projections 17. The slippers 14 may be connected to the piers by means of integral ties 25 in which the struts 15 are embedded. Specifications 268,399, 292,544, 304,250, and 317,390 are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 292,544 and 304,250.
