Abstract

Cylinders, mounting; crank-chambers. - In a radial cylinder engine, the cylinders' are secured to the crank-chamber by ties 27 which encircle the crank-case and are tightened by turnbuckles 28. Crankcase webs 12, 13 are arranged in line with the ties, and a removable core 17 is provided. The cylinders are supported during erection by clips 29, Fig. 5, which are bolted to the crankcase between and engage projections 23 on adjacent cylinders.
