312,578. Burdens, Ltd., and Howden, W. H. April 26, 1928. Divided on 315,032. Spray burners.-In an oil gas carburettor or burner the fuel nozzle is made in two separate parts, the inner part 7 being carried by the inner air tube 5 and the outer part 8 being secured to the outer air tube 4 of the carburettor by a screw coupling 8<a>. The pressure of the part 8 on the part 7 and consequently on the tube 5 is resisted by helical retarders 6 on the outside of the tubes and a helical retarder 9 inside the tube 5. The retarder 9 is carried by a rod 9<a> which is screwed through a plate 12 engaging by a bayonet slot connection 11, 13 an opening 2 in the end of the casting 1 and is fitted with a handle 10 to facilitate its removal. An outer plate 14 may be screwed on the rod 9<a> against the edge of the opening 2 by a wheel nut 15 screwing on the rod 9<a>.
