Abstract
310,983. Molins, W. E. Dec. 5, 1927. Feeding sheets. - Cardboard and like sheets 2, bearing a printed or embossed design in edgeregister, are fed by a suction device 3 to feed rollers 8 and are transferred to a reciprocating picker 18 and fed in alignment to cutting rollers which shape the blank in edge register. The cards are held in a stack 2<1> by edge runners and during feeding the suction device is moved towards the stack by cams 12 to bow the bottom card, a wedge 5 is then swung forward to separate the bottom card which is engaged between feed rollers 7, 6. The roll 7 is carried on the wedge 5. Feed rollers 8 carry the card under a brush 26. After passing the rolls 8, the picker 18 is swung into contact with the edge of the card by a bell-crank 24 and the picker is reciprocated by a cam 23. The rollers 10 carry cutters for severing the parts shown hatched in Fig. 4. The waste portions are detached by pins on the rollers and the blanks are stripped by a number 27 described in Specification 313,686, [Class 31 (i), Cutting and severing machines &c.].
