Abstract

310,669. Wilson, J. H. May 10, 1928. Gas meters.- Lubricant is supplied through conduits direct to the working parts of a gas meter by one or more pumps operated from the meter mechanism and drawing from a reservoir arranged either inside or outside the casing. As shown, reciprocating pumps o arranged within an oil reservoir g mounted on the valve plate bare operated by a cam m on a shaft which is driven through toothed gearing q, r, s from the cross-shaft e, and discharge through tubes p leading through the plate b to the bellows leathers. Alternatively, the cam shaft may be driven by ratchet gearing from the flag wires c. Where grease is to be supplied to stuffing-boxes or bearings, the reservoir has two compartments containing oil and grease respectively, each compartment having its cam and pumps.
