Abstract
308,808. Widmer, W. March 31, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Movable-abutment type; working-fluid supply; cooling.-The working chamber 6 of a rotary internal-combustion engine is formed by a circumferential recess 3 in the rotor which co -operates with a recess 4 in the stator; pistons 7 are formed on the rotor and an abutment 14 is provided in'the stator to divide the working space into compression and combustion chambers. Air entering by an inlet 10 is compressed in the engine and passes by a pipe 17 to a carburetter 18 and into a pumping chamber whence it is discharged by a piston to the working space 6 of the engine on the other side of the outwardly sliding abutment 14. After ignition and expansion the gases exhaust at a port 11; scavenging air is fed to a port 11<1> The working chamber 6 is of circular cross-section Cooling ribs 1<1> are formed on the rim of the rotor.
