Pumps. piston; casings; suction silencing. - In a multi-cylinder, two-stroke-cycle engine the suction inlets d for the scavenging pumps b draw from a casing c by which the engine and pump cylinders are united into one block. The chambers f, into which the casing is divided, intercommunicate, and an inlet g to the chambers is provided for each pump. The delivery sides of the pumps may be connected together.
