Abstract
308,437. Wake, R., Griffiths, G. C., Barry, B. J. W., and Firminger, R. T., (trading as Linley & Co..) Feb. 28, 1928, Window holders for sliding sashes; latches, sliding.-In fasteners for sliding windows or sun blinds provided at each side of the sash, engaging frame racks, and consisting of a sliding bolt actuated by an external lever or trigger, the lever is pivoted inside the casing and provided with an arm engaging the side wall of an aperture or recess in the bolt, the aperture being so formed that the lever remains stationary during retraction of the bolt whilst the window is being lifted. In one form, Fig. 2, the casing a has a fixed handle a<2> and carries the bolt c with an aperture c<2> for the cam b<2> of the lever b pivoted at b<1> to the casing. The lever b is engaged by a V- or W-spring d within the aperture c<2> and normally rests against a stop a<4>. The bolt is recessed to pass the lever b. In another form, Fig. 6, the bolt c projects from one side only of the casing. The lever b has a projection b<6> carrying the pivot b<1> and engaging the spring d, while a projection b<7> engages the stop a<4>.
