Abstract
306,400. Reischach & Co. Ges. Feb. 18, 1928, [Convention date]. Iron tanning.-In tanning with salts of iron nitric oxide (NO) is passed into a solution of a ferrous salt, such as the sulphate, chloride, or acetate, in the absence of air and in the presence of the hides or prior to their introduction into the bath, and after treatment in the solution for a suitable period the hides are exposed to air or oxygen, which may be under pressure. The hides after treatment in the bath may be dried and then washed.
