Swivelling joints; stuffing-box joints. - Fluidtightness between a socket member a and a flanged rotatable member b positioned therein is secured by means of cork &c. packing rings e<1>, e<2> which are compressed by an intermediate sleeve c. The flange d of the member b makes a sliding fit with the inner surface e of the member a, and the packing rings e<1>, e<2> are interposed between the said flange and the outer and intermediate members a, c respectively. The socket member is provided with an internally-threaded extension for a pipe, and supporting brackets g, while the rotatable member is screwthreaded at its outer end for a pipe and elbow i.
