479,569. Pipe joints. GELDBACH, A. March 19, 1937, No. 8089. [Class 99 (i)] In a joint in which a packing ring 4 preferably of V- or U -section is located in a recess 3 of the socket and held by fluid pressure against a spherical-ended spigot 6, the recess has an outer conical wall tapering towards the socket mouth. The ring may have an inner part-spherical surface of a smaller radius of curvature than the spigot.
