Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. - In an engine of the kind in which the cylinder head b is provided with two preliminary combustion chambers c each communicating with the combustion space d through a number of narrow passages, the passages f are so arranged that the fuel injected from each chamber is sprayed over one particular section of the combustion space into which section no fuel is introduced from the other chamber, and so that the jets of fuel issuing from the chambers co-operate to impart a rotary movement to the contents of the combustion space.
