Abstract

Feeding.-In a semi-plastic brick machine, the feed hopper or shoot is formed with one or more inclined sides so as to widen downwardly and at the bottom is arranged an approximately horizontal screw or other conveyer which delivers the material to a box arranged above the reciprocating slide carrying the feed carriage. As shown, the hopper C is formed with an inclined side c and the material is delivered therefrom bv a. horizontal screw conveyer D to a box D<1> disposed above the reciprocating feed carriage A which transfers material to a mould B. The screw D is preferably of short length and is driven through variable-speed gear E.
